Time Well Spent

Spring Break this year started out with taking the kids to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, hoping to wear them out for a long road trip to upstate NY. We spent Easter this year with very good friends of ours (The Mitchells), who were very gracious hosting our family for the week. Ted had to work in Groton, CT doing an audit for the shipyard there. He got to meet up with his dad, who lives in RI, for dinner.

Our host took Ted and the kids to Plotter Kill Nature Preserve in Rotterdam, NY. (Check out the cool photos in the link below.) Tricia opted to stay behind and take a well deserved nap. Besides, it was cold outside. Thankfully the weather did warm up during the week. There was plenty of sunshine.

Leave it to Tricia (Ms. Event Organizer) to keep the kids occupied during the week. Both Alex and Sophia visited as many of their friends as they could in such a short period of time. Tricia organized a pizza party, hoping that the kids could see a bunch of their friends all at once. It went very well. Although Tricia spent most of her time chauffeuring the kids around Saratoga County, she was happy to spend some one on one time with friends as well.

The week went by really fast and our trip back to VA went very smoothly. Thank goodness for portable DVD players.

To our friends who are reading this and whom we visited this past week....THANK YOU so much for having us spend time with you and your families. We are in awe of the generosity you have shown. Some of you had to take off from work so that our kids could spend time together, for that we are grateful. It was great catching up with everyone. We hope we can return the favor in kind. Again, SPECIAL THANKS to the Mitchell Family for putting up with us for a whole week!
