Transitions

Well the month of May sure flew by. The kids and myself have been anticipating the end of the school year. And now, it is just a matter of days, June 7th to be exact. We are looking forward to being able to relax and not rush out the door for extracurricular activities. We are also looking forward to friends visiting and doing a little traveling ourselves.

We had two birthday celebrations this month. Sophia celebrated her 11th birthday (can you believe it?!?) on May 5th and Ted celebrated his on the 26th. Sophia wanted a sleepover party with her friends. So we hosted 8 girls which was plenty for one night.

We had a family/Memorial Day celebration at my sister Tina's house for Ted. It was perfect weather for swimming and a couple games of cornhole.

Both Alex and Matthew have been busy with soccer. The season will end soon. Matthew's games are local, same place every weekend. Alex's soccer games, on the other hand are all over the place. He plays against soccer teams in Poquoson, Langley AFB, and Ft. Eustis. Thankfully these away games are no more than half an hour away.

A few weeks ago our Cub Scout Pack had a bridging ceremony for all the boys to crossover to their next rank. The Pack paid for all the neckerchiefs and slides (bonus!!). It was a very nice ceremony.

Sophia had her Girl Scout Troop bridging ceremony this afternoon. It was nice and short with a little reception at the end. She went from being a Junior Girl Scout to a Cadette.

Ted has done quite a bit of traveling. He spent a couple days in Pittsburgh for some training and then a week in Groton for an ever exciting audit.

We hope the summer brings a lot of good times and fond memories ahead.....for you and me!
